The Reluctant Cook, Cheap Foodie blog was inspired in October 2019 when a dear friend and reader of my other blog, Narcissism Meets Normalcy , surprised me with a gift of French cheeses. She and two other friends donated so I could finally afford to taste the flavors I'd long read and dreamed about but never been able to afford (That's the "Cheap Foodie" part. Writing about food is a dream come true. Learning about famous chefs, food history, growing regions and recipes brings me serenity...but no income. I do it for fun and to share great food stories with you.
The philosophy of Reluctant Cook is that you already know how to cook and cook well. I'm not going to insult your intelligence by holding your hand with patience-shattering step-by-step photos. No! This is about technique...hacks...lore...working smarter NOT harder in the kitchen with recipes I've perfected for a better, more unctuous and delicious result.
