On Thurs Jan 25, our dad Derek Irwin fell and hit his head in the night and was life flighted to Sunrise Emergency Hospital ICU in Las Vegas with massive head trauma with multiple brain bleeds, fractured skull, and broken ribs. He was intubated immediately and it’s been a roller coaster of two weeks with our strong dad overcoming seizures, collapsed lung, atrial fibrillation, and pneumonia, and we then discovered he had dysphagia due to the brain stem bleed and could not swallow, so he had a temporary trach put in his throat and a feeding tube. His vitals are good but needs constant care and will be soon sent to a long-term medical hospital to recover. They would like him to stay in Vegas, but we want to bring him home to a long term care in San Diego so all of our family can help support our mom and dad, who has not left our dads side for two weeks now. In order to safely transport our dad home to San Diego, it will cost us about $20,000 for a medical airplane flight. We are in a very difficult position with all of the medical expenses and cost of the transport. Please help us bring our dad home.
