Help Jason Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Jason and Marijane need our help. They have been the heart of this community, bringing us together with love, laughter, and good food. As we all know, they grow the food together, Marijane brings the laughs, and Jason is always ready to give the shirt off his back, even if it's the only one he has.
Almost a year ago, Jason was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer that has metastasis and spread to the bones (HRPC). He had previously gone through a knee and hip replacement and made considerable strides in improving his physical health. After getting a routine check-up for his hip, Jason went to get a sandwich from Bruno's, received a call from his doctor, and came home with Cancer.
Jason and Marijane have tried to hold this in and to carry the burden on their own. The chemo has caused peripheral neuropathy in his hands and feet, making it impossible to continue his watch making and service career he has done for so long. They held this in because they they've said, 'we didn't want to spoil the party. ' But, we all know there is no party without them and we want to show Jason and Marijane how much this community cares for them.
In January 2020, they will again have to make hard decisions. There are alternative treatments that they know will help, but they are very expensive. Health Insurance will not cover any of them because they are considered alternative medicine.
Jason is as strong as an Ox, Marijane has the heart and perseverance of a small country, and I hope that we can show them that the family they are a part of will be there to take care of them and to love and help in any way needed.
Please take a moment to donate to Jason, it means the world. He won't ask, I will.
