This is Yoendry Villatoro. He was diagnosed with leukemia just about a year ago. His family and friends call him Yoyo. Yoyo’s father passed away when yoyo was very young from leukemia. Yoyo’s mom, Juanita, has provided for him ever since and has never left his side. As a child, he struggled a lot, never fully developing. He was diagnosed with a rare type of anemia growing up and did not have the blessing we all have today. Fanconi anemia causes abnormal thumbs and small body features. Yoyo never developed his thumbs and his bones grew abnormally small. This type of anemia is what led him to get leukemia. He was transferred from Miami children’s hospital to Cincinnati’s children’s hospital in hopes of him getting better treatment. He was in a hospital room for about a year with no outside contact, only doctors and nurses and his loving mother who was with him along the way. He couldn’t go outside because of the pandemic which could risk his condition worsening. He fought for 10 hard months and beat cancer, but the chemotherapy caused extreme damage to his already weak immune system and lungs and left him in a coma, not being able to breathe on his own. His mom left her job, left the few family that she had here in homestead and went with her son to Cincinnati. She’s the most amazing woman and cares for her son so very much. And so here we ask if you can make a donation to help Yoendry’s case, whether that be with his funeral costs, helping his mother come back home or helping her living situation. Anything helps!
