Help Me Save My Baby Kai

Hi, my name is Naama. I never thought I’d have to write something like this, but my baby Kai is fighting for his life right now.

He’s currently hospitalized at TrueCare for keto acidosis. A complication from diabetes which causes his organs to shut down. The doctors told me to be prepared for the worst.

However, they’re doing everything they can. He’s hooked up to machines, has a feeding tube, and needs constant monitoring 24/7. I visit him every day, but they won’t allow me to stay for too long because they’re too busy with other animals, and it breaks me to know he’s there alone, scared, surrounded by noise.

Kai has been my world for 7 years. I had him since he was 2 months old. He’s not “just a cat”. He’s my family, my emotional support, my reason to get up in the morning. He’s been with me through every heartbreak, every move, every moment of joy and chaos. Anyone who knows me knows how close we are. I would do anything to keep him alive and comfortable.

I do have insurance, but it only covers 80% of the costs, and the limit is $20,000, which I’ve already passed.

Everything from here on is out of pocket, and the bills keep growing every day he’s in the hospital. I’ve already spent everything I have, but I can’t give up on him, because he’s still fighting.

The doctors say he still has a chance- but it depends on how long I can keep him hospitalized and under care. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his treatment, medication, and hospital bills.
