During our recent trip to East Africa, my husband and I met a sweet 10 year old boy named Daamir whose life has been marked by the lasting effects of tuberculosis. While he's no longer battling the disease, his severely bent back causes him constant pain and prevents him from standing or straightening his legs, making it nearly impossible for him to walk.
A skilled surgeon is ready to perform life-changing surgery, but we need your help to raise $5,000 for the procedure. On-top of his condition, his house is barely livable, similar to the one pictured in the included images. To provide them with a secure home, an additional $3,000 is needed.
We are partnering with Crisis Aid International to raise the necessary funds. Crisis Aid International is a nonprofit organization committed to "Saving Lives, Saving Souls & Changing Futures." Founded in 2002, it provides emergency relief and long-term support to vulnerable communities in East Africa and the United States. Their initiatives include food distribution, medical care, safe housing for trafficking survivors, clean water projects, and community development programs. Recognized for its financial accountability, Crisis Aid is listed among the top one-tenth of 1 percent of all charities in the United States.
