Hi everyone,

We're reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your help to save our beautiful boy, Archie.
Archie is our loving, playful, and slightly chaotic 3-year-old cocker spaniel who has brought nothing but joy, laughter, and muddy pawprints into our lives. He’s full of energy, affection, and always the first to snuggle up when someone’s feeling down. He’s more than just a pet — he’s our family.
But last week, our lives turned upside down.
After a few days of Archie being a little off — vomiting, low energy, and just not himself — we took him to the vet. Bloodwork and further tests showed something far more serious than we could’ve imagined: an acute kidney injury and suspected leptospirosis, a rare but aggressive bacterial infection. The infection had rapidly progressed, and by the time he was referred to a specialist, Archie was heading into renal failure.
We were devastated to hear that without immediate intervention, his chances of survival were 0%.
But there is hope. With urgent kidney dialysis, his odds of making a full recovery rise to 80–90%. The only place in the UK that could offer this life-saving treatment was the Royal Veterinary College in London.
On Monday night, we made the heart-wrenching trip to London and handed Archie over to the amazing team there, clinging to the belief that he has a fighting chance. On Tuesday, the vets confirmed they would begin dialysis and placed the catheter he needs under general anaesthetic.
We’ve always done our best to protect Archie — we’ve paid into pet insurance since he was a puppy — but unfortunately, his policy doesn’t come close to covering the high cost of this specialist, intensive treatment. The dialysis alone is thousands of pounds, and the ongoing care, monitoring, and hospitalisation are rapidly adding up and could be more than £20,000.00
We never thought we’d be in this position, but we’re asking for your help.
If you can donate — even a small amount — you’ll be giving Archie the chance to come home. To run in the park again. To chase squirrels. To greet us at the door with his silly wagging tail and that look that says “I love you” without words.
If you're not able to donate, please consider sharing this page with others — on social media, in WhatsApp groups, anywhere you can. Every bit of kindness, every share, every message of support, means the world to us right now.
Thank you for taking the time to read Archie’s story. We are doing everything we can to bring him home — and with your help, we just might.
With love and hope,
Archie’s Mummy & Daddy ❤️
