I assured myself it was going to be an adventure, and it has been. Unfortunately, not one that has always worked out the way I had planned.
Back in January 2021, the opportunity arose for me to move with my company from my home of the past 10 years in Austin, TX to Philadelphia, PA for a new role. It was exciting! It had all the promise of being my dream role, it was too good to be true, and it wasn't what I expected.
After packing up my small pups and moving 1600 miles across the country to a place where I know no one, I have no family anywhere nearby, not to mention smack in the middle of a pandemic, I learned that it was not the picture that had been painted for me. It's been a rough 9 months for me mentally, emotionally, and financially, much like so many people throughout this pandemic.
Now I find myself in a situation where I cannot afford the move back home from Philadelphia, PA to Austin, TX, to be closer to my family, friends, support network. I'm generally not one to ask for help, and I honestly don't know how well or even if this will work, but I'm trying to utilize every avenue that I can think of to raise these funds. Any amount received will help cover the costs of a moving truck, movers (I'm by myself up here with no friends or family), gas, etc.
It's a long way from PA to TX so any help is appreciated! For the past 10 years before moving to Philly, I've helped raise money for various charities throughout the Austin, TX area, and now I'm the one in need of some help. As we say when we're fundraising, "No amount is too small; we raise the money $1 at a time." Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
