My dear friend Sarah, single mom, vocal performer, and a delight of a person desperately needs help with her dental work.
Sarah and I have been friends since Sophomore year, a friendship that has lasted decades. The first things I remember about meeting Sarah was her effervescent energy and her amazing singing voice. Sarah has an angelic quality I've rarely encountered and am blown away with her talent.
In the last few years, Sarah's health has declined due to chronic nerve pain and different mental and physical illnesses. She hasn't been able to hold a steady job or perform in plays or with a band on stage. Sarah has been able to receive medical insurance through assistance, but has no dental insurance.
Because of this, several of Sarah's teeth have decayed and rotted. All of Sarah's teeth had to be pulled on the left side, including her front tooth that is now split and fractured. Her bone density is poor because of illness and genetics, and more work will need to be done.
Sarah's charismatic image as a performer has really taken a mental hit. Her daily struggles have increased with anxiety and depression. Sarah's been a single mom for years, raising her two boys and giving everything she can to them. her thoughts were never of her self, but of her kids.
Sarah is currently in the process of applying for a grant from the University of Utah School of Dentistry to help with some of her major work, but this will not cover the cost of desperately needed implants, including the left side and her front tooth. The only way she can do this is with your help.
I miss the spark Sarah's voice has and the energy she has brought in my life, and I really want to inspire a change in her life. Sarah was overwhelmed when I asked to do this for her, to help her recover her confidence and gift and be able to share it with others.
