The Treble Makers Quartet Dreams Really Do Come True Crowdfunding Project

Run by Northern Beaches Chorus, Region 34 Sydney, Australia.

Do Dreams Really Come True?

At 2am one night in early June, Treble Makers Quartet’s resident insomniac and Baritone, Sharon Stewart saw a message that stopped any chance of a restful night. 2022 Region 34 Quartet Champions, Debacle decided they couldn’t go to International this year so, as every quartetter knows, the 2nd place getters are invited to take the Sweet Adelines international stage to represent Australia. A dream that rarely comes true!

What happened next is best heard over a wine or a coffee sometime with Ashley, Kylie, Sharon or Geesje, but when the invitation came from Sweet Adelines International Headquarters, the fabulous four accepted it eagerly!

Everyone at Northern Beaches Chorus quickly got caught up in this fairytale scenario and we want to do something to help Treble Makers focus on their music and performance. There are only around 90 days from hearing the news and walking on stage as Contestant 10 in Phoenix on September 14 Mountain Standard Time, (early hours of September 15 Australian Eastern Standard Time). Raffles would take too long to organise and get tickets out to our friends around the region. Fundraising events would be impacted by Covid and likely to be only for our immediate community.

So, we are launching the Treble Makers Quartet Dreams Really Do Come True Crowdfunding Project!

It’s simple, if you are caught up in the magic of this opportunity, please donate whatever you can to help cover some of the costs of coaching, travel, accommodation, meals, costumes and keeping the home fires burning while away. Our target is $4000. Lead, Ashley Port and Tenor, Kylie Shanley have young families, so it’s quite a logistics exercise for them to be away. Their supportive husbands will do what it takes to follow their dream, but we want to help too. The quartet is thrilled about and appreciative of the International Competitor Assistance Program funding provided by the Regional Management Team for every Region 34 Quartet who takes the international stage.

We have chosen "gofundme" to make it easy to donate and for its security features. You can use  credit/debit card, PayPal, EFT.  You will receive a receipt from "gofundme".

Thank you for any contribution you can make toward our target for our amazing Treble Makers Quartet!

About Treble Makers

Tenor: Kylie Shanley

Baritone: Sharon Stewart

Lead: Ashley Port

Bass: Geesje van de Linde

Originally known as Making Treble, Treble Makers debuted on the Sweet Adelines International Region 34 quartet contest stage in 2011. They were the 5th place medalists at their 8th regional contest appearance in 2019 and have won the Wendy Middleton Award for Most Improved Quartet three times, including at this year’s contest. They have also achieved high placings in the Sydney Eisteddfod, Barbershop Harmony Australia’s Eastern Region Invitational Quartet contest, and the Short+Sweet Voices Festival in Sydney. Although they have had several line-up changes since 2011, Tenor Kylie Shanley and Bass Geesje van de Linde have kept the dream alive to become one of Australia’s top quartets. They are both Assistant Directors of Northern Beaches Chorus and Baritone Sharon Stewart is the Visual Leader. Until the recent birth of her son, Lead Ashley Port was NBC’s Lead Section Leader.
