Mast Cell Activation & Toxic Mold

Donation protected

Update: I have a rare autoimmune disorder called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. The potential cause was toxic mold, but researchers are still trying to understand how it begins.

My name is Anthony Chiozza. I'm thirty-seven years old.  In mid 2013 I became so sick I could not get out of bed for months. I lost my science teaching position in Mansfield ISD as a result.  Doctors could not find the cause of my illness for over a year until I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease. My immune system had been compromised to such an extent that I also had mono for about two years. Mono, for an adult, is no picnic on its own, but coupled with Lyme disease I found my life at a painful stand still.  This past summer, I was also diagnosed with lead poisoning, and mold poisoning. I am positive for the black mold mycotoxin and two other deadly mycotoxins. Mold poisoning is also known as sick building syndrome, or Chronic Inflammatory Illness. Apparently, my body's immune system does not tag the mycotoxin poisons from mold commonly found in indoor and outdoor environments. Unfortunately, I am now chemically sensitive as well. Something as simple as soap, or dryer sheets cause me severe pain.
While going through this dramatic life change I have been taking care of my middle child Noah, and our new baby Isaac.

The treatment for these illnesses has cost my friends and family emotionally, and financially. I know I have to get back to work, but my options are severely limited considering my genetic make-up and the extent of my chronic illness.  I can't even go grocery shopping anymore without being in pain from chemicals and molds in the stores. I need to be able to support my family. My goal here is to raise 140,000 dollars so I can have a home built for me that is free of dangerous chemicals used in typical constructions, and will not grow mold. The first step to getting better is getting into an environment where I don't react. If this is unsuccessful I will use what ever money is donated to try to find any home where I don't react even if I can't get my own built.

Please help me get well so I can become a functional member of society again. I want to take care of my wife, and children. God bless you all, and thank you very much for your kindness. Our Lady of Good Success, please help us. #HomelessTeacher
