Hi my name is Teresa Lafferty and I am raising funds in memory of our friend, John Walsh who sadly suffered a serious stroke on Saturday 21 June but never regained consciousness. Johns sister Maureen and husband David together with his nephews John and Patrick were by his side. 

John Walsh -- known to many of us simply as "John the Plumber" -- passed away peacefully on Saturday, 28th June, with family by his side in hospital.

John will be deeply missed by his friends in the fellowship of whom there are many over 36 years in recovery. A familiar face over many years, he was one of those "quiet foot soldiers" who formed the backbone of our recovery community -- steady, humble, and always there.

To honour John’s memory and show how much he was loved and respected, we are opening this Go-Fund-Me page. It’s a small way for us to give back and celebrate the life of someone who gave so much to others.

The money will go towards a get together at Flood Street, Chelsea -- date to be confirmed -- to celebrate John's life and to help the family towards funeral costs.
