Gilaman Wazir's Tragic Death

I am Naghma. I am setting this fundraising (through my son Anwar Mangal) for Gilaman Wazir, a Pashtun human rights activist who was brutally beaten in Islamabad and is fighting for his life right now. He has a sick mother, a young wife and 5 small children. Let’s come together to raise funds for his treatment and if God forbid he does not make it, this could be a lifeline to his family. This is the least we can do to honor his legacy.

July 10th update: In lillah wa inna ilayhi rajiun. We have learned today of the tragic death of Gilaman. It’s a sad day. Words can’t describe our feelings. We continue to honor his legacy by donating as much as we can so we can send it to his family who must be devastated by the loss of a son, father and husband.

Gilaman was a poet who has affected all of us in many ways. I have sung some of his poems that had the message of peace and stoping violence in our communities. This money that we raise will go directly to Gilaman’s family. I assure you that. I am in contact with people who know the family and the family is aware of our efforts and support it. We will post a video of his family receiving the money. This money is not for any political movement but for a family in pain and mourning who lost a son, husband, and father.

Once the fundraising comes to a completion, and all the funds are settled in this account, we will send the money through a legal money processing company with all the receipts.
