Our friend Amy needs our help!
As many of you already know, Amy Swenson is the Director of Midwest Animal Rescue and probably the most selfless and compassionate person you will ever meet. She has always been there for me and my fur babies and I'm sure many of you can say the same.
In early July, Amy began feeling ill while at work. She quickly went to the ER and was immediately admitted in to the ICU. Amy spent a week in ICU and over a week in transitional care before finally returning home.
Once home, she made many trips back to the hospital while they ran a battery of tests attempting to determine why she became so sick. Last Tuesday, while at the hospital, Amy slipped and shattered her hip. Fortunately, she had surgery the following day and is now at home recovering.
Because they had to repair the hip with plates and pins, Amy has been instructed to stay off her feet for what could be six weeks.
We have setup this GoFundMe to to help ease some of Amy's medical and other expenses. This has been, and will, continue to be a long journey for Amy. The least we can do is provide this tiny peace of mind and let her know we are all rallying for her recovering.
We have also setup a MealTrain if you wish to bring Amy a meal while she recovers. You can sign up here: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/1w447z
