Support the family of Yongan Li

It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Yongan Li.

On Friday, September 16, 2022, Mrs. Ruirong Li tragically lost her 9-year-old little boy. Yongan Li was heading home with his grandmother after school when a SUV driver turning into a driveway fatally struck him on the sidewalk a few minutes away from his home.

Yongan was kind, respectful and smart. We will cherish our memories of him, of him helping other students in class and teachers whenever they needed it. Memories of him sharing with his friends things he had, like candy he got as a birthday gift. Memories of him looking forward to playing Minecraft when he got home from school and eating bakery buns his mom packed for him for lunch every day, just like any other child.

This tragedy has really tugged at many of our heart strings. Mrs. Ruirong Li is a single mother and Yongan was her only child, her pride and joy. We have set up a GoFundMe for Mrs. Li to help and support her directly with funeral expenses, time off work, and other financial burdens during these difficult times. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated as we all help Mrs. Li get through what no parents should ever have to go through.
