Pat's Cancer Fight

Shortly before his 45th birthday Patrick was diagnosed with testicular cancer in early 2015 and had surgery (orchiectomy) on February 20th.   Unfortunately the biopsy from Boston Labs determined it was not testicular cancer but Large B Cell Lymphoma.  Although it's considered stage 1, aggressive treatment is needed as it's labeled a unique type of lymphoma (diagnosed in only 3% - 5% of men).

After the bone marrow biopsy, the RCHOP chemo (outpatient) treatments began March 25th and port was put in the next day.  Pat was hospitalized on April 29th per the recommendation from Dana Farber for the first of three rounds of Methotrexate ("MTX")(high-dose chemo). Each inpatient stay was supposed to be for 5 days, but Pat's kidneys didn’t react so kindly so he was hospitalized for 10 days instead. Doctors collaboratively decided to alter the remaining treatments of MTX via spinal taps where he would not have to be hospitalized. MTX was recommended, in addition to RHCOPs, to prevent this type of cancer from spreading to his nervous system & brain.

Next up on the schedule is round #5 RCHOP on June 23rd and spinal tap #3 the next day.  Final RCHOP should be on July 14th; then begins daily radiation for 2 - 3 weeks.  Pat is expected to be out of work until late August/early September.

Needless to say, there are so many of us who love Pat and Tammy and want to help.  Well, here's your chance!  Pat and Tammy are incredibly giving people and now it's time to rally around them, support them & love them.
