My Family Needs Help

I wanted to share a quick update from the heart. These past weeks have been the hardest of my life, but one thing has kept me grounded: my family. My wife has been my rock through this entire nightmare. She held pressure on my wound until police and paramedics arrived which saved my life, and now she’s caring for me at home while keeping our house running and loving all five of our kids the way only she can. She has shown strength I didn’t even know was possible. My recovery is slow and painful — multiple surgeries, a liver drain, and daily challenges just getting around — but she has never once made me feel like a burden. She’s been patient, steady, and by my side every single minute, even though I know this has been incredibly hard on her too. I’m sharing this because we truly need a little help. Not for luxuries — just to keep things afloat while I heal and she does the work of two people.

My name is Robert Ciampa AND I AM A SURVIVOR. I BEAT THE 5% ODDS OF LIVING, on November 14th, 2025, my life was nearly taken from me IN THE BLINK OF AM EYE. I was the victim of a violent shooting that caused catastrophic internal injuries JUST OUT OF THE BLUE, including a Grade 5 liver injury at my own home at 5:45 a.m as my wife was getting up for work — one of the worst levels of liver trauma a person can survive.

The bullet tore through both lobes of my liver, caused massive internal bleeding, damaged my portal vein, fractured my rib and chest wall, and left metal fragments inside me. I underwent multiple emergency surgeries, including liver resection, diaphragm repair, stomach repair, gallbladder removal, artery ligation, and hepatic artery embolization. I’m still dealing with bile leakage and a drain leading to me liver. I have a long recovery ahead of me but I AM A SURVIVOR.
