Rachel's Medical Fund

My sister, Tricia, and I are writing on behalf of our Mom, Rachel. She has been fighting Grade 4 brain cancer since July 2014 with more strength and courage than anyone I know. Unfortunately, we received some bad news this week.  My Mom's tumor cells have spread significantly since this time last year and her doctor feels that chemotherapy will now do more harm than good. We made the decision today with his recommendation to no longer treat her cancer but instead focus on her symptoms and making her more comfortable. Since the New Year, my Mom has been admitted twice to Beth Israel in Boston and once to The Miriam Hospital and the medical bills continue to come in while our finances dwindle.  We also found out today that hospice care can cost anywhere from $300-500 daily and her insurance only covers up to a fraction of what that would cost us in a week alone.  We are so grateful for all of the help and support we have received from family, friends, and the community since her diagnosis. At this time, if anyone is in a position to donate anything at all, we would greatly appreciate it, anything helps.  We would like to spend this time with our Mom instead of stressing over financial difficulties.
