Bobby was diagnosed with Stage III Pancreatic Cancer last week. It all started in November 2019 with abdominal pain and feeling nauseous. Over the next few months, Bobby would make 3 trips to the ER and 2 trips to his primary doctor and continued to be diagnosed and treated for constipation. The pain was only getting worse and he started losing weight too. We knew it had to be something more.
So on Jan 12, 2020 Bobby made another trip back to the ER and demanded more testing and answers. They performed a CT scan and discovered a mass on his pancreas. He was referred back to his primary doctor to order further testing. The next day he met with his primary doctor and was scheduled for an MRI the morning of Jan 15th.
The doctor called that afternoon and delievered the news that would change our lives forever. Bobby was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. We were in shock and our hearts were broken.
On Jan 17th he had a biopsy and it was confirmed that he has Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. At this time the tumor is inoperable due to being too close to the aorta and wrapped around 2 other main arteries.
The oncologist that performed the biopsy referred us to the Mayo Clinic for our best shot at beating this. We sent over all of his records and expect to hear back from them soon. We meet with the pancreatic cancer team at UNMC next week to discuss our treatment options and anticipate he will start chemo right away.
As you can imagine this news came by complete shock and is something our family was not financially prepared for.
Bobby is a wonderful father to 5. He is also the main provider for his family, which includes his wife Jess and their 2 children Abby (11 years old) and Levi (20 months).
Bobby has been unable to work due to the unbearable pain and discomfort and we are unsure when he will be able to return to work as gets ready to go through treatment and begin the fight for his life. Jess has been approved to take time off of work to care for him but unfortunately it is unpaid time.
This page is set up to help our family with any medical and living expenses. This will also be necessary if we have to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for treatment. Your donations will help alleviate any financial stress and allow our focus to be on Bobby and his fight.
We sincerely appreciate any donations you can make.
