Miguel Eduardo Hernandez Madrid lived 26 years and left a mark that will last far longer. He had a gift for making people feel at home. Whether you needed advice, a laugh, or just someone to listen, Miguel was there. He loved deeply, forgave freely, and let others shine without judgment or prejudice. He carried his Christian faith with him in everything he did, as it is written, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16. He was a proud uncle, a loving brother, a devoted son, and a friend to many. He could be a little grumpy, but his outlook on life was something you admired once you knew him.

Miguel came to the United States when he was only three years old. He grew up here, built relationships here, and touched lives here. But Honduras never left his heart. He always wished he could go back, to experience the place he was born, to feel connected to his roots, and to live fully within his culture. We are going to make sure he rest there.

On April 9th, we lost Miguel suddenly. We are still waiting on the autopsy results. His passing was unexpected, and it has shaken our entire family.

We are asking for your support so it can go toward a US funeral viewing so that everyone who has known Miguel since childhood can say goodbye properly, his burial in Honduras honoring his final wish to return home, and travel for immediate family members to accompany him.

Our parents should not have to worry about anything right now except grieving their son. We are asking for $20,000. Every dollar goes directly toward bringing Miguel back to his roots and caring for our family during this loss.

Miguel Eduardo Hernandez Madrid vivió 26 años y dejó una huella que durará mucho más. Tenía el don de hacer que todos se sintieran en casa. Si necesitabas un consejo, una carcajada, o simplemente alguien que te escuchara, Miguel estaba ahí. Amaba profundamente, perdonaba con facilidad y dejaba que otros brillaran sin juicio ni prejuicios. Llevaba su fe cristiana en todo lo que hacía. Era un tío orgulloso, un hermano amoroso, un hijo entregado, y amigo de muchos. Podía ser un poco gruñón, pero su manera de ver la vida era algo que admirabas una vez que lo conocías.

Miguel llegó a los Estados Unidos cuando tenía solo tres añitos. Creció aquí, construyó relaciones aquí y tocó muchas vidas aquí, pero Honduras nunca salió de su corazón. Siempre deseó poder regresar, experimentar el lugar donde nació, sentirse conectado con sus raíces y vivir plenamente dentro de su cultura. Nos aseguraremos que regrese a “su tierra” como el decía.

El 9 de abril, Dios llamó a Miguel a su lado de manera repentina. Aún estamos esperando los resultados de la autopsia. Su partida fue inesperada y ha sacudido a toda nuestra familia.

Ayúdanos a honrarlo como se merece.
