Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Noor Family Services is a non-profit organization, based in Atlanta, that was formed in 2015 to fill a need in the community for confidential, culturally sensitive assistance, and services to victims and survivors of family violence and abuse.

Please consider helping the victims during the Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October) As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on generous donations from supporters like you, who endorse the work we do. Domestic abuse is a very serious matter and children are immensely affected by it. It is our organization’s mission to provide high quality legal services, case-management, referrals, counseling, supportive services, and education.

A client’s story:

I left my house due to family violence and I had to live in a shelter with my children.

A social worker recommended Noor Family Services to help me through the difficulty that I was facing with my ex-husband. Since that initial call to Noor Family Services, I have received excellent services. The staff responded to my calls and emails requesting assistance with attorney, counselor, transportation, food, and hygiene supplies. NFS assisted me with an attorney to represent me at the court and a counselor to support me emotionally. I was also provided with Uber gift cards, Kroger gift cards for food, gift cards to purchase hygiene supplies. I moved to my apartment and NFS assisted me with household items. I have just started working and NFS assisted me with childcare.

While this process was not easy for the client, she was able to regain control over her life because of NFS’s support. Sadly, this story is like that of many survivors who walk through our doors each day.

Noor Family Services is committed to helping survivors of domestic violence

Your donations can help our clients in a variety of ways:

$100 provides transportation for client to take her child for a doctor visit.

$200 provides one week of childcare allowing a client to go to work.

$300 provides a client and her children with food.

$500 can help a victim/survivor with counselling sessions.

$1,500 provides for client’s rental property, expenses, and utilities.

$3,000 provides for client’s legal services.

Your contributions not only help NFS provide essential services, but also give NFS the resources to conduct outreach and education programs within the community to prevent future violence. Additionally, 100% of the net proceeds of donations support our clients affected by violence.
