Joy and Johns Vacation Fund
Donation protected
Hello my Family and Friends,
As most of you know my mother, Joy Spears, has Stage 4 Colon cancer. Mom was diagnosed last year and has been on treatments (Chemo-Therapy) since then. Unfortunately, Mom has not reacted well with either of the Chemo medications, she has not been able to complete a full regimen of the medications. The first medication made her deathly sick and the second gave her tremendous pain in her hands and feet. The pain was so severe that her Oncologist took Mom off of the medication and to take a month and a half rest, while they try to conjure up a medication that won’t be as severe. Mom has been wanting to go visit Aunt Kathy in Kentucky for a long time but has not been able to because of doctor visits and being on these medications. Now is the perfect time for Mom and Dad to go to Kentucky and have a vacation. I’m not going to beat around the bush, but this may be Mom’s last vacation to Kentucky. I say this because of her cancer count, it has gone up, and it has me worried. I can see the worry in Mom’s eyes too, but she tries to hide it, because she is strong. I need everyone’s help to raise the money for Mom and Dad to enjoy a vacation. I have a goal of $3,000 or as close as we can get. I don’t expect $1,000 donations, I know everyone is hard working and have difficulties in your own lives, a $1 donation means just as much to me. You may wonder, “Why do they need $3,000 to go to Kentucky?”, there are a few reasons. Dad’s health has deteriorated with in the last year. He no longer can drive that far like he used to. They will need to stay at a motel over night to complete a SAFE journey. We all know that when we go on vacations, we love to stop at restaurants during the trip, they have to eat several times a day to keep a good diet and to maintain energy and focus for the road. The truck needs to be completely serviced before Mom and Dad leave, to make sure the truck is good for a safe trip. The most important reason is the fact that this may be their last vacation together and that they need to have the funds to do whatever they feel like doing. Mom has always been a kind hearted giver, but she never was a taker. It is time for all of us to give something back to her, a dream of going to Kentucky for one last time fulfilled. Please do not tell Mom or Dad about this fundraiser, they don’t know anything about it. When I give them the money for the trip, I will record it and post it so everyone can see Mom light up with joy! Thank all of you, and God Bless each and everyone of you!
