Hi my name is Faith and I am raising money to pay a reunification therapist. At the end of 2019 I was going through a rough patch, I became homeless and as much as I hate to admit it had a drug problem, at the time my solution in order for my son not to go through the struggle with me was to sign over guardianship to really close friends of mine who would love him as their own. When I signed over guardianship, I told them do not hand them back to me until you walk into my front door because I was not going to be homeless in the streets of Albuquerque with him. He didn’t deserve that.

In February 2021 I was held hostage, tortured for days and shot five times… when I was in the hospital, I begged for my mom to come and get me because if I continued to be in the streets of Albuquerque, I would end up dead. Sadly no one showed up. So when I got out of the hospital, I went back to the streets and continue the life that I was in. At the end December 2021 I woke up to a really good friend of mine being murdered…..him screaming help me help me help me and to the sounds of gunshots….. by the time the gun shots stopped I got up to try to help and he was already gone….. that was the second time I looked death into the eyes and knew I really couldn’t continue this life style of id end end up dead.

By march 8 2022 I quit doing drugs. I had this epiphany that if I would just go home then I could no longer be homeless because if you go home, how can you be homeless. so I hitchhike from New Mexico to Colorado and showed up at mom‘s door. when she told me that she didn’t want me showing up to the court case for my son because it would jeopardize her and my baby daddy’s chances, something clicked in my head. That she wasn’t for me but against me. so I came back to New Mexico. I stayed at my church shelter and worked for Pastor Joanne Landry until I could have the money to get my ID once I got the money for my ID. I started working at McDonald’s on December 5 2022. December 29 2022 moved in to a studio apartment. February 2023 got promoted to manager. July 2023 started paying for a started paying for a psychologist who specializes in trauma. August 2023 got a car. And this whole time I’ve been appearing to court for my son. During all this time there has been a no contact order , I filed a motion to get it dropped and as of February 7, 2024 it was dropped but in order for me to have contact with my son it has to be it Has to be done through a reunification therapist. So that’s what I’m trying to raise money for the fees for the reunification therapist which come out to a roughly around $3000.
