Kristen and Marc have been fighting for their chance to be parents since 2020 when they started their IVF journey. Kristen is a childhood cancer survivor, and the same treatments that saved her life as a child, greatly reduced her chances at pregnancy later in life. Thanks to God’s faithfulness, and advancements in medicine, this past May they received news that their miracle baby girl is due in February 2024!
The joy and excitement to be parents was dimmed during a routine screening at a prenatal appointment in September. Doctors found a tumor near Kristen’s left lung and diagnosed her with hepatoblastoma, the same rare pediatric liver cancer she had as a child. In the coming months she will have to undergo major surgery to remove the tumor along with a portion of her lung, followed by cancer treatments, all while protecting their daughter in utero and eventually giving birth to her along the way.
We wanted to create this page as another form of support for Kristen and Marc. We know that the cost of the NICU for the first three months of Baby Girl’s life will be at least $192,000 — and that number doesn’t include any of the cost for Kristen’s care. While we do not have that exact monetary goal confirmed yet, we DO know they’ll need all the help they can get as they step into this season of uncertainty.
Two things are certain:
1.) This did not surprise our God; He has a plan and will be present every step of the way.
2.) Kristen and Marc have a massive community of friends and family who love them dearly, they will need us all now more than ever and I know we will all step up to the task ahead and be the hands and feet of God to carry them through this.
Please pray for Kristen, Marc and their daughter, as well as the medical team working tirelessly to save them.
