Jason had a tumor removed on Thursday, February 18. The surgery went well except for a few complications. First off he woke up to a numb foot due to his lower spine being compressed in the position he was in during surgery. The second complication is the result of the first complication. When his spine was compressed, it secreted a protein into his kidneys. He is currently on an IV flush to clear the kidneys.
The way our insurance works is we pay per night Jason in the hospital. He just finished night number three with no real end in sight. The longer the complications persist the longer he will be in the hospital.
So many people have asked how they can help in this craziness. It is very humbling and amazing to know we have a community that will support us when the need exists from the meal train to surprise gift cards and Amazon deliveries. We covet your prayers to get Jason back to full health. As this thing continues to roll on, things continue to get more expensive and the length of recovery is longer.
