From the Field to the Classroom. Help us Build!

Donation protected
Hello friends,

My parents linked up with a non-profit organization in Mexico. Their mission as a non-profitable organization is to provide nutrition, basic education and medical services to those children who are born into extreme poverty in our community (Rosarito) The construction process is broken down into 7 projects, with phase 1 being the roof! As you can see from the GoFundMe the total amount we are trying to raise is $25k, but project 1 is for the roof and that will cost about 4k. Once project 1 is complete, we can really get the ball rolling! The non-profit is called Buenos Principios, A.C.

Thank you for taking the time to check out this amazing cause!!! Please read the complete story below and see the breakdown of construction by phase.

A BRIEF HISTORY:
Living in Los Angeles, California, being married and childless at that time, we traveled through Mexico. In our way back, we met a boy at 1:00 a.m. in a bus station in the northern city of Torreón, Coahuila. He was selling lighters. We told him it was too late and too cold to be on the street and to go home. He responded that he lived in the bus station. We realized of the existing poverty, of the many defenseless children who live in the streets with no food, no education no medical assistance. Furthermore, by living in the streets they are exposed to many dangers and bad influences. That is how we decided to do something, even if little, to solve the problem.

CHALLENGES:
The main challenge we have encountered is to find the funds to continue building . Our main source of funds has been from the fundraisers. However, we sell the tickets 15 or 20 pesos each (less than a dollar) so people can afford it; it helps when some people donate 5, 10 or 20 dollars. We usually sell around 600 tickets every time. We need more money to be able to hire more workers in order to move the construction faster.

WHAT DO WE NEED?
We need a reliable car (van) to transport the children back and forth. Our family car has broken down and we have been  using public transportation  in the last month.

We also need cement, reebar and wire for the last roof. Once the rooms are completed, we need to put the floors, the doors, the windows and the basic things that a community center like ours need.

MOVING FORWARD:
We strongly believe that the project will be done because we have faith. We have been and we will keep working hard because there is no way back. With good funding it will be done faster, otherwise it will take longer but  we know that more than half of it has been done already.

Any amount of help will be greatly appreciated.
