Hi, all! This is probably the hardest, yet most humbling thing I have ever done. I’m not very big on my personal business being public, but I’m putting my pride aside for once because I’m at a loss now. As many of you know, I spent the better part of the last 20 years in healthcare. As a result, it has taken a huge toll on my back. I was hospitalized for 5 days a little over a week ago. I have been out of work (still employed) for almost a month now, with no absolution as to when I will actually be able to go back (tears along all 5 of my lumbar vertebrae, Degenerative Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis, and severe arthritis).
I am also the only financial provider in my household. My daughter and I take care of my mom, who had a catastrophic stroke almost 3 years ago that left her hemiplegic on her left side. A once very active woman, is now bed bound, depending on others for all aspects of her care. Seven days after this happened, while my mom was in a coma that lasted for 3 weeks, my granny (her mother) died of a heart attack and was buried without her knowledge. My trio of help dwindled down to just me in the blink of an eye. My mother was a hard worker when she was able-bodied, but that has rendered to be useless now because she qualifies for little to no assistance or benefits because of it. She’s also a veteran, but because of the years she was enlisted, she gets no real assistance from the VA. Therefore, any and everything she needs has to come out of pocket, in addition to my normal everyday bills. All things considered, I think I have managed pretty well thus far. Being that I’m still technically employed, I don’t qualify for any type of assistance because of my “income.” If you really know me, then you know me asking for help is a pretty foreign concept. I’m battling with myself as I type this because I still feel that I should never HAVE to ask for help. But here I am, in full transparency, standing in GREAT NEED.
If you can find it in your heart to help me and my family right now, I would FOREVER be grateful. If you want to help, but can’t, I’m grateful for that as well. Leads to any legit WFH jobs are also VERY MUCH appreciated. Thank you! ❤️
