Ryder's Recovery

Hello, my name is Ryder and my parents are Sami and Daniel Bogenschutz. I am 9 months old and my parents adopted me after finding out I had 4 BB pellets throughout my body from before I was 8 weeks old. They do not bother me or cause any pain and I do not have any idea how they got there. When my new parents brought me home I met my new big dog brother, Topper, and my 3 new big cat sisters. I absolutely LOVE all of them even though my energy is a little too much for them sometimes.

Unfortunately my energy has not been where it used to be. Recently, I was diagnosed with pneumonia and this has been really tough not only on me with my health but also on my parents. It all started on 12/27/2023 and then I was admitted to the ICU on 12/28/2023. I am currently on oxygen and IV antibiotics around the clock. My oxygen saturation have has gotten better over the last few days but my vet feels I still have a ways to go before I can be back home with my parents and siblings. My vet is also concerned about a metallic item in my stomach but due to my pneumonia they are unable to do the necessary procedure. Unfortunately it does look like my parents are still being told I will likely need the operation once my lungs have recovered from the pneumonia.

Every night in the ICU is anywhere between $1,500-$2,500 depending on the type medications they are giving me and if I need additional treatments. I also already had a lung aspirations costing $1,500. My vet says I will likely need at least another 4-5 days before I can go home and continue to recover. It is still a long road to being back to my normal self, or monster as my parents call me (I don't get it but it makes them laugh so I am okay with it). Any help you can give my parents will go a long way as they are trying their best to give me the best chance of survival they can but I am not cheap!
