On June 3rd, Carrie and Mike Sklarz experienced every parent’s worst nightmare—the sudden and heartbreaking loss of their 14-year-old son, Mikey.

Mikey was a bright, funny, and endlessly lovable kid. He had a goofy sense of humor that could light up a room, a kind heart that made others feel safe and seen, and a passion for fishing and being outdoors. He was the kind of kid who made friends easily and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

This tragedy has left the family devastated and in unimaginable pain. Mikey leaves behind his big sister Arielle (16), who was not just his sibling but also his best friend, and his little brother Jimmy (4), who adored him.

As his family try to process this loss, they’re also faced with the overwhelming burden of funeral costs and missed work. With only one income and no financial cushion to fall back on, they need help to give Mikey the respectful and loving goodbye he deserves.
