Hello, my name is Brittany. I am the youngest of the three Martin sisters. I am reaching out for help and prayers for our middle sister. We are a unique set of sister, we have lost our mom and dad. Leaving us to be sisters and moms to each other. As a trio we have endured a unfortunate series of events of events this past week. We planned a sisters trip of Nashville for the holiday weekend. However, fate had a different hand of cards. I, Brittany was involved in a car crash Wednesday which I suffered back and hand injuries. Which made me be unable to attend the trip. As I wished my sisters the best and they landed in Nashville Saturday night. Ashley is a type one diabetic who also suffers from Gastroparesis. She started the trip in urgent care which landed her to the ER for what was believed to be food poisoning. She was released and given medication, but stayed sick throughout the night. The following morning She was lethargic, sweating, shivering, teeth chattering-feels and felt like she going to pass out. Her breathing was very labored and she was discolored. Our oldest sister immediately called 911, when they arrived her blood sugar was 42. When she arrived to the hospital her blood sugar was 600+. They performed an EKG as well as several other tests. She was diagnosed with with diabetic keto acidosis. Which can be extremely painful and potentially lead to death. Ashley is stable, she is unable to keep anything down. Nikki, our oldest sister has been by her side throughout all of this. I called the nurse this morning to find out Ashley had a very rough night. She stayed very sick and dry heaving. The doctors looked at her X-rays to find out she may have a bowel obstruction that is causing the severe sickness. She will have a CT scan today to confirm her bowel issue. Nikki has to return home tonight at 8pm and Ashley will be in Nashville in the ICU for the unforeseen future. We are working on a plan to get one of us back to stay with her. As it is extremely heavy, it also comes with Financial burdens. Ashley has a son who will be in summer camp. She will accrue out of network hospital bills as well as transport care back to Virginia. Not to mention her loss of income being out of work. If you can help financially it would be greatly appreciated. Pray for god to heal Ashley. Pray for our family as we come together to try to get her home. Updates to come ❤️
