Lumpy's Life Saving Surgery

Maria's dog Lumpy is not only her best friend, but her second child who means everything to her. Many of you know Lumpy - the dog with a huge personality who has his own Facebook following and an outfit for every occasion. Unfortunately, Maria and Lumpy had some devastating news delivered to them this week that no one ever wants to hear. Lumpy is very sick- he has a tumor in his spleen which could burst at any moment. His odds at survival are 0% without this surgery- only days at best! Two different veterinarians from two different clinics both independently examined, tested and screened Lumpy and they both feel he is a great candidate for a spleenectomy and think he has a great chance to make a full recovery with this surgery.
With the funding raised here, Lumpy will be able to get his surgery and hopefully continue to live a long and happy life with his Mama Dukes (Maria) and the rest of his family.
Maria is a very caring, loving, genuinely nice person that tries to make everyone else’s lives around her better. She cares greatly for those people lucky enough to have her in their lives. She has had a difficult life but she has been able to overcome many of these obstacles and challenges facing her through the years. This was in part, due to her best friend, her side kick, and loving four-legged companion Lumpy.
Lumpy loves road trips, goes to work to hang out with Maria, loves his furry family cousin Roxy, keeps close to Nonna and Nonno (his great grand dog parents) for food scraps at every meal, and loves nothing more than being with his Mumma Dukes!! He isn't just Maria's pet dog, but he's her partner in crime, her companion whose love has been to always be by her side especially when needed most! There is an unspeakable bond between the two of them that words cannot justify. He needs her just as much as she needs him!
