Donation protected
Ryan Shockley, of Seaford, DE is a courageous 23 year old man with a vibrant and charismatic personality. Once you meet Ryan, you will never forget his infectious smile and love for life. Ryan recently graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Elementary Education. He is so excited to begin his career as a 5th grade Social Studies teacher at Delmar Middle School. The love for Ryan is endless, especially from his brothers Travis and Luke, his sister Ella, his father Curt, and step-mother Angie, as well as his girlfriend and former UD classmate, Ashlyn. Ryan’s grandfather, former Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Costen Shockley, has always been an inspiration and role model for Ryan.
On May 27, 2015, Ryan was diagnosed with Leukemia (A.L.L.). However, this disease could not stop Ryan from participating in his University of Delaware graduation ceremonies 2 days later on Fri, May 29th. Ryan was admitted on the following Monday and is currently in Christiana Hospital receiving chemotherapy treatments to beat this cancer. In just the short time he has been there, Ryan’s strength and determination have won the hearts of the doctors and nurses that are providing such wonderful care to him.
Ryan’s future is so bright and his dreams are endless. He has a genuine passion for working with children and helping them learn and grow. Although this disease will be defeated, Ryan’s road to recovery will be accompanied by unforeseen medical bills, future treatments and medications.
This fund was created to help alleviate some of the expenses associated with Ryan’s treatment. Ryan has touched many lives already and is surrounded by loving thoughts and prayers from everyone that knows him.
Your help and support are truly appreciated and the Shockley family is forever grateful.
