Hello I'm Amey! I've made the decision for my 39th Birthday today (Monday 23rd) that by the end of the week I will let my 2 daughters shave my hair off for charity.
I'm not sure if it's the age I've reached or just the world we are in now but Cancer seems to be absolutely everywhere, it has affected my family directly, immediate relatives, close family members & also friends. It's heartbreaking for all involved.
Whilst I know shaving my hair off won't help them in any way, I'm hoping to raise some money for charity & along the way perhaps set an example to my two daughters in particular and hopefully others, that, for me personally - although hair can look beautiful it is merely just something on the outside, whereas bravery, true beauty & kindness comes from within. For me shaving my hair off is a choice but for many it is not.
I have chosen my charity to be St. Johns Hospice.
St John's Hospice supports individuals with life-limiting illnesses and their families, offering palliative and end-of-life care. This includes people with conditions like cancer, heart failure, and respiratory diseases. The hospice provides a range of services, including inpatient care, community-based support, and bereavement support.
Please consider sacrificing your Costa, Starbucks or meal deal for the day, maybe replace that with a brew or packed lunch made at home instead
Or even just a share!
Thankyou so much
Amey xx
