Hi I am creating this on behalf of my younger brother, Chris. He is a dedicated father of my disabled niece, Emmy. Emmy was born with severe cerebral palsy and has been lovingly cared for by my brother for the past 12 years. He has been her main caretaker, shouldering all that comes with her necessary daily care and medical needs.
Unfortunately, in July Emmy was hospitalized at Children's Hospital of Orange County with an upper respiratory infection and was found positive for endo virus.
At the hospital's advice, he was encouraged to have a G-tube placed into her as soon as she improved, this took two weeks. On August 3rd, she was taken into surgery to receive her g-tube placement and was sent home just 5 days later.
On the night of August 9th, she went into septic shock and has had a surgery every week since. The doctors are saying she may remain hospitalized for another 6-8 weeks before they can even begin to discuss her returning home.
At this time, we are hopeful that Emmy will fully recover. My brother has been by her side every step of the way, each day commuting back and forth from his home to the hospital. He is currently without an income since July and is at risk of depleting his savings rapidly to cover his expenses at home-mortgage, utilities, fuel, food, etc.)
The funds from this campaign will go to help him to bridge the gap while he is tending to Emmy's care as her advocate. Please donate what you can or share this campaign, we would certainly appreciate it. Feel free to follow on Instagram @emmys_adventures11 We will update this campaign as necessary. Thank you!!
