Benny Strong

The last few days have been the biggest, emotional whirlwind we have ever encountered and still have no idea how to navigate or feel. We am so thankful for our family and support group. For all that don’t know, we were in the hospital for 9 days, battling what we thought was a bad, strange ear infection. Meeting with ENT and Pediatric Infectious disease, ultrasound, CT scans, blood work and surgery to remove the tissue in Benny’s ear and hopefully place a tube. Unfortunately, we couldn’t remove the tissue therefore couldn’t place a tube. We sent that tissue off for pathology and that’s when everything became blurry, messy, emotional, angry, all the things and the world just stopped. Our sweet Benny Boop has a tumor that is cancerous and is currently awaiting the confirmation from Boston Children’s. We were able to go home yesterday so we could enjoy the holidays and will await the results of his pathology, MRI and Chest CT that were done today before we begin the next steps. He has been acting like himself so that is a blessing. We have a long road ahead of us and we don’t know have all the information or know what is in store for us. All we know is that we love this little boy more than anything and are going to try to make the best out of treatments and every day.

For now, know that all of us are so confused and overwhelmed so we may not be messaging right back to people. Everything is crumbling and we are just trying to hold it together for the boys to have the best Christmas possible and at least until we get results back of the imaging so we can figure out how we need to attack.
