My wife’s story While vacationing in Mexico I collapsed in pain I couldn’t feel my legs and my face went numb and couldn’t walk without feeling like I was going to black out so the resort doctor said I needed to be rushed to the emergency room in Puerta Vallarta by ambulance. I was told I had multiple things wrong with me and my gallbladder needed to come out which was the only right diagnosis they made out of 3 they gave me.But before they would treat me or do any testing they wanted a deposit of $2,000 dollars usd to even start treating me. We used all of that deposit up in a couple hours. My husband asked them if they could bill our insurance but the hospital said they couldn’t bill ours because providence insurance has been known not pay and fight for the cost of treatment. Without anymore deposit I was discharged, pay or die.The resort doctor charged $360 usd and the ambulance company charges us 350 US dollars plus Alaska airlines charged us $150 to changed our flights. Then while flying home I started to have a flare up in my gallbladder plus a crippling pain in my neck and my legs started to go numb again. We landed in Los Angeles for our connecting flight and one of the flight attendants notice I was in extreme pain. Long story short they put me on a flight ban until I was checked out by a doctor. An airport paramedic said I needed to go to the hospital immediately after they checked my vitals, once again I was in the hospital. After some ridiculous co pays and out of network cost and using or savings to pay the co pays and doctors in Mexico in Los Angeles we have no money to pay even our basic bills and put food in the table for our children to make it the rest of the month. Any help is greatly appreciated.
