Wynter’s Type 1 Diabetes Diagnosis
Donation protected
Hi to all our friends and family,
As many of you know, our beautiful girl Wynter Rose, who is just 11 years old, has recently been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes—a lifelong autoimmune condition that came on suddenly and turned our world upside down.
Wynter hadn’t quite been herself for a while, and just days ago we were flown to Perth Children’s Hospital for urgent treatment and to learn how to manage her condition. She now requires over 8 insulin injections a day, regular blood glucose testing, and close monitoring 24/7.
Despite the challenges, Wynter has been incredibly brave—learning how to do some of her injections herself and facing each day with her signature humour and resilience. We’re so proud of her.
We’ve created this page to help cover:
• Medical costs not fully subsidised (insulin, glucose monitors, glucagon, insulin belts, carry kits, etc.)
• A compatible iPhone to link with her CGM (which tracks and alarms for highs/lows)
• Travel costs for ongoing appointments between Carnarvon and Perth
• Support for her siblings, Cason and Ava, while we’re away
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference for Wynter and help ease the burden as we adjust to this new normal and help her feel like a kid again—being able to keep surfing, horse riding, and just enjoying life ✨
Any remaining funds raised will go towards saving for a Fully trained Diabetic Companion Dog for Wynter in the future.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, messages and support. We’re so grateful
