My 24 yr old daughter Morgan received the news she had breast cancer on March 31,  2020.  Since then it has been a whirlwind of doctor appointments, tests, and lots and lots of waiting. With the current epidemic, many procedures are postponed creating uncertainty as to when surgery may happen. At this time with the type of cancer Morgan has it is responding to hormone therapy with the hopes of shrinking the tumor and preventing any further growth. Morgan has decided she will be getting a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. It has been a challenge to determine where she is able to receive treatment due to her insurance being limited to a very small local network. Morgan works at Staybridge Suites and is currently on leave while she is taking care of herself and has a limited income for living expenses, medical bills, and transportation to appointments.  Family members have also taken time off of work to help assist Morgan in finding resources and accompanying her to appointments. Morgan is already receiving bills for doctor appointments and tests. We have ventured out of state to Oklahoma seeking opinions and treatment to only find they are not in Morgan's best interest to proceed. All funds will be used to help with medical, living, and recovery expenses for Morgan. The recovery time after surgery could be up to 2 months with many appointments to follow. It is not known if radiation will be needed at this time it will be determined after surgery when other tests are completed. Morgan needs lots of prayers and positive thoughts. This is a very emotional time for Morgan and her family.  As progress is made and the surgery gets scheduled we will post updates. Morgan loves and appreciates everyone's support as does her family. She will no doubt continue to persevere and climb any mountain put in front of her and she will maintain that philosophy throughout her treatment. We know Morgan’s charismatic, resilient attitude about life will carry her through this, however, any support at this time is greatly appreciated.
