*update*. October 30, 2024

Wow!!! The amount of community outpouring has been incredible. Lexie, Evan, and family are humbled and speechless by the amount of support for their daughter throughout the community. They, along with Wynn are enjoying the slogans of encouragement using her name also. Let’s keep them going. I have started to sell “in it to Wynn it” bracelets also using Wynn’s favourite color purple and the yellow for the bone cancer ribbon. $5 each and can be purchased at the Lindsay golf and country club, Kawartha mortgage group, nisbetts clothiers, or by contacting Mark VanKooten, or myself. Share your pictures with the bracelets using the #inittowynnit and Wynn can follow along.

Here is an update from Lexie…

Hello everyone, my name is Blake and I’m a good friend of Evan Van Kooten. Im starting this fundraiser for Evan and Lexie’s daughter, Wynn and her fight against bone cancer.
Last week, Wynnelle Van Kooten, daughter of Lexie (nee Rowbotham) and Evan Van Kooten, big sister to Royce, was diagnosed with a form of bone cancer. What was initially thought to be growing pains or a sports injury was found to be a tumour wrapped around her pelvis. There has been a team assembled at Sick Kids to help her fight this aggressive tumour. She will begin her fight with her first chemotherapy treatment this week.
In only a week, Wynn’s family has been overwhelmed by the support and well wishes that the community has provided while they process this diagnosis and the battle ahead. Wynn, the mature, strong, determined girl that she is… is ready to fight. She not only has a team bench behind her but a stadium. She will WYNN this battle. ️
All proceeds from the Go Fund Me will go directly towards her family’s expenses as they travel back and forth from Sick Kids for Wynn’s ongoing treatments.
