Well where to start? I could write a novel, but will keep it somewhat short.
The Hanson Family has been a part of the Winthrop family for many years. They are all kind, caring, and loving individuals. Doug & Deb Hanson were blessed with 3 beautiful children: Dan (Trisha), Melissa, and Kristin.
Tragedy struck in 2008 when Deb passed away at age 58 from smoke inhalation from a fire at their home. The family and community mourned the loss of one great woman.
A couple years had passed (2011) and the Hanson Family suffered another loss, the passing of daughter Kristin, age 28, from brain cancer. As quoted from older sister Melissa about the view Kristin lived by, “Keep the world bright and colorful and keep our hearts hopeful and happy.” Many hearts were heavy for the Hanson Family.
Two months after losing Kristin, Dan had terrible back pains. It was determined he had a descending aortic dissection. There was a tear in his aorta. Here was another obstacle the Hanson Family had to hurdle over. During a checkup in January 2015, Dan learned his aorta had expanded in the area just below his lungs and at a second spot just above where the aorta splits for his legs. Dan was scheduled to have a portion of his aorta replaced on March 17th, 2015. This was a huge surgery for Dan and his family. Surgery went well according to the doctors except Dan did not regain feeling in his legs or feet. Dan spent time in the ICU and Courage Kenny.
On June 2nd it was homecoming day for Dan! Many thoughts and prayers were answered and continued coming. Dan’s wife Trisha and three kids were very excited that dad was coming home. With some transitioning happening at home, it was nice for the family to be together again.
Sadly on June 9th, heaven gained another Hanson angel. Dan passed away at the age of 39. Dan was a loving husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind his wife Trisha and three kids: Ellie-11, Delaney-9, and William (Liam)-4, his sister Melissa, and his Dad Doug.
This GoFundMe page is set up for the Hanson Family to help with any expenses, needs, wants, or educational funds for Dan’s kids. Please help this wonderful, caring family! God Bless!
