I am deeply saddened to bring you the news that Wychurst has been broken into and vandalised. The damage includes broken shutters, a hole smashed through an outside wall which has damaged the painted wall inside, axe damage to the frame of the cook house, drug use and graffiti in the site caravan, and theft of the axes from inside the hall, amongst other things.

The police have done what they can, but we need to act as quickly as possible to protect the site and its contents before further damage is caused.

Covid has heavily affected our income as a society, so I am having to resort to crowdfunding to assist our efforts to build a large fence around the site and keep these intruders out. Anything that can be offered to help us would be hugely appreciated.

I cannot express how angry and upset this incident has made me and those of the society who have been involved so far. A huge thanks to those who have helped over this last week with temporary repairs, and those who have been checking on the site in the evenings.

Regards,

Jordan Rich – Wychurst Coordinator
