Wyatt Neku Medical Fundraiser
Donation protected

Hello! We are the Neku family.
Pedram, Amanda, Theodore (22 months old,) and the newest member of our family Wyatt Bennett. On Tuesday, January 4th during Wyatts 20 week ultrasound it was discovered that part of his brain wasn't growing correctly. Over the last five months we have been navigating finding a diagnosis and handling the many tests, ultrasounds, MRI's, scans, undergoung an amniocentesis, and meeting with several maternal fetal medicine specialist at four different hospitals in two different states during this high risk pregnancy (we moved from Wisconsin to California when I was 36 weeks pregnant).
Currently his diagnosis are:
• Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum
(this connects the left and right brain hemispheres together, letting them communicate).
• A small cerebellum
(The largest part of the brain, the cerebrum initiates and coordinates movement and regulates temperature)
• Polymicrogyria
(ca condition characterized by abnormal development of the brain before birth. The surface of the brain normally has many ridges or folds. In people with polymicrogyria, the brain develops too many folds, and the folds are unusually small.)
• Is at a high risk for having seizures
On Thursday, May 19th Wyatt was delivered via c-section, I (Amanda) was able to hold him for 10 minutes before he was transferred to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles NICU unit. I stayed at one hospital recovering from the c-section for the next four days and only Pedram was able to visit Wyatt and deliver the breastmilk I was pumping. On Sunday, May 21st I was released from the hospital and have been able to stay with Wyatt at Children's hospital since then. As of Thursday, May 19th (a week after being born) Wyatt is being treated and at this point we do not have a release date for him to be able to come home and meet his big brother.

We are humbling asking for support and donations at this time. This would help cover:
• Lost wages from Pedram taking off of work
• Transportation costs. (going to and from the hospital to home, gas, parking lot fees)
• Food costs (you can only eat so much hospital food!)
Also, we are creating a memory book for Wyatt during this time so if you would like to send a note of encouragement please let me know and I can give you our home or email address.
Our prayer requests at this time are for the doctors to give good, soild advice, Amanda's recovery from the c-section, emotional and physical strength for both Pedram and Amanda, and that Wyatt will pass all his tests and be strong enough to come home.
Thank you and God bless,
The Neku Family
