Wyatt’s Way

I asked Jud Greene how he has managed to stay so strong for so long……….and his answer struck me to my core “There wasn’t any option…….he’s my son”. A little over 9 years ago my friends, Jud and Jessica Greene’s son, Wyatt, was obviously struggling but the subsequent trips to the hospital confirmed the deepest fear of every parent. A brain tumor. Specifically a hypothalamic glioma which was inoperable and only treatable with incredibly toxic chemotherapy that has wreaked havoc on Wyatt’s body and health. Since then Jud and Jess have had to become fluent in a new language with terms like: pilomyxoid astrocytoma, craniotomy and neurostorm. Not terms you ever want associated with one of your children.

Throughout this journey, Wyatt has always has had a default setting of unique. When I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, without hesitation he answered ‘famous’. This is Wyatt to the core. Genuine, honest………beautiful.

As you can imagine, this journey has been a struggle physically, emotionally and financially.

And to cut to the chase, this is my ask.

For you to take one minute and close your eyes and trade places………..just for one minute.

Then open them, and thank God and count your blessings……..and give. Please.

Thank you,
