Help support Wyatt and Amy
Donation protected
Our beautiful friends Wyatt and Amy need all the support they can get right now!
This year started off on a positive note, Wyatt popped the question to Amy when they were travelling overseas and of course she said yes. Not long after their engagement Amy found out she was pregnant with their first baby. Their lives were filled with excitement and family and friends were delighted, but in an instant everything changed. Wyatt noticed a swollen lymph node that was visibly enlarged. After undergoing numerous tests, he was diagnosed with relapsed T Cell Lymphoma (T-LBLL) Leukaemia. Unfortunately this is not unknown territory for Wyatt, as he was first diagnosed in 2015. He underwent 18 months of treatment and has been in remission until now. Being diagnosed again has been mentally strenuous as Wyatt is having to relive the memories in hospital and is well aware of the long road ahead.
After receiving his diagnosis Wyatt was transported to Royal North Shore Hospital commencing treatment immediately. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will need to have a stem cell transplant once he is in remission and a suitable donor is found. Wyatt is required to stay in Sydney for the duration of his treatment. The treatment timeframe is not guaranteed but his doctors have advised it would be a minimum of 6 to 8 months.
The road ahead is daunting for both Wyatt and Amy. Wyatt will be receiving treatments that are both physically and emotionally exhausting. Amy, whilst growing their little baby, will be staying in Sydney with Wyatt whilst he receives treatment. Being 6 hours away from home means they are both without the support of their friends and family which adds a layer of isolation and logistical complexity to an already overwhelming situation.
Having a baby is a dream come true for them. To have a cancer diagnosis at the same time is a living nightmare. If you are fortunate enough to know them, you know what fun, selfless and amazing people they are with such a zest for life. They are the kind of people that are there for you, in good times and bad. Let’s get behind them and show our support while they concentrate on getting Wyatt well and growing their baby.
The money donated will be used by our dear friends for medical treatment, living expenses and preparation for their gorgeous new baby on the way. We appreciate any and all help ❤️
