Wyatt Academy: Join our Community Effort!
Wyatt Academy is a K-5 elementary school where students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Since 1887, we have served as a cornerstone of learning and community in the Whittier and Cole neighborhoods. By cultivating an environment that supports community, opportunity & wonder, we nurture students to reach their full potential. In 2019 we were named a Colorado Center of Excellence by the Colorado Department of Education. On behalf of Parents en Accion at Wyatt (PAW), we would like to invite you to join us in helping our students reach excellence every day!
At Wyatt Academy (a Denver Public Charter School), phenomenal academic programming is at the core of what we do. Every Wyatt student receives art, music, PE, and science instruction aligned with common core standards. All of our classes are inquiry-based, which leads to a better content retention and instills a lasting love of learning. We also offer a comprehensive English Language Acquisition program and a gifted and talented offering for students of all ages.
Our model is unique because we don’t stop there. We understand that student success depends on more than just academics. That’s why we provide the essentials children and their families need to reach their full potential. Our Family Empowerment Center provides wraparound services like a laundromat, food pantry, and clothing boutique, so families feel supported and valued as part of Wyatt’s diverse community. The Family Empowerment Center has changed the way that we operate as a school and as a community hub.
At Wyatt Academy 96% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. This is a measure that indicates the number of families with fewer financial resources, and indicates that we have an increased need for support. Nationwide, Colorado is ranked the 40th lowest in school funding. Smaller schools like ours are impacted by this at a high level.
Wyatt relies on the generous support of donors to deliver phenomenal academic programming that sparks curiosity, wonder and joy for children. Every donation helps us ensure that every child in our vibrant community continues to be empowered by their learning environment and has all the support they need to reach their full potential.

- Field trips and enrichment opportunities for all students
- K-5 music, art, and science education
- Urgent support-staff needs
