Hi, my name is LaSawnda. I’m asking for assistance for my son Jacob, who is now 20 and just had a birthday that passed on October 10, 2025. He has been diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 17, a year before graduating high school. Jacob was a good student, taking a cybersecurity course and playing football a year before his graduation. He was diagnosed and hasn't been the same since. He has been through a lot these past three years. He is currently being released from a mental hospital in Columbus, Georgia. They do not offer housing assistance in Georgia. There aren’t really any long-term treatment programs unless you have money to pay out-of-pocket. He does have Medicaid; however, I can’t afford $3000 a month. All funding that will be given would be to assist Jacob into housing so he won’t be homeless and on the streets.
