Jason’s Motorcycle Accident Support Fund

Today marks 14 full days since the accident that {hopefully temporarily} changed everything.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

There aren’t many ways to preface this post and I’m known to be direct anyway so here it is:  On May 15th, my best friend was in a horrific motorcycle accident.  He has broken so many bones that we cannot count, including a broken pelvis, both legs, shattered his ‘good’ ankle, both arms, etc .  He has already had a few surgeries, including ones that had to stop because it was too much on his body, with many to come, and has been fighting for his life every day.

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

My heart is broken and I feel like some of my soul is dying as I watch him breathe from the corner of his hospital room with his girlfriend Melissa every day and night.  In just an instant, our daily life changed and it will be months before we get a sense of what the new normal will be.

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

The great news is he was wearing a full faced helmet and I firmly believe that it saved his life.  He does not have a brain injury and that is truly most important.  He is a man that exudes a healthy and active lifestyle and I know that down the road, this isn’t going to change that.  He’s been a fighter since day one of this journey and I don’t foresee that ever changing.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

For any of you that are willing, PLEASE consider opening your heart and donating, no matter how small, to help with these astronomical medical costs that have already begun.

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

Additionally, I’d like to show him that he has support everywhere around him and would ask each of you to start posting either a pic or video of you beginning your own health journeys.  I ask that anyone who is physically able, start doing ten push ups, 10 sit-ups, and 10 jumping jacks and when you post that you’re done, use the hashtag #GrowingStrongWithJason

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

He will love to see that if nothing else, this got a CRAP TON of people up, moving, and off the couch, just as one day, he will be up and doing it all again too.  Just like the Phoenix he is, he will always rise back up!
