Jonah's medical expenses

Dear family and friends -
I'm not sure how to begin. I've never posted anything like this. I guess you can say I'm reaching out to all of you in the hopes of helping my sister Deborah financially. She just found out her 4 year old son Jonah has Short QT Syndrome, which is a rare, life threatening heart condition.

Besides being devastated to learn this news, it's going to be tough financially.
As many of you know, Deborah is a single mom and has been since Jonah was born. She works two jobs (social worker for Hospice of Arizona and a crisis counselor on a national abuse hotline). She is the primary provider for Jonah. She is an amazing mom - strong, faithful, always positive and upbeat, and raising the sweetest and smartest boy I know (I watch him every Tuesday, so I'm around him a lot ... I always look forward to my "Tuesday time" with him). Jonah is not lacking for anything due to his mom's hard work. He goes to preschool, plays soccer, currently doing martial arts, and many other activities. However, this medical condition changes things and my sister needs help financially.
This condition was discovered due to Jonah's biological father being in the hospital recently. He collapsed and was revived three times (at home, in ambulance, at hospital). He survived and they discovered he had this rare heart condition which is hereditary. His mother died at a young age, which is attributed to this. My sister immediately made an appointment at Phoenix Children's Hospital to have Jonah tested. Sadly, the results came back positive that he has this gene. She needs to buy an AED (automated external defibrillator) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE that he will need to have with him at all times. These are very costly. In a few weeks, he will be in the hospital for three days to start medications. They will start out slowly and increase them and want to monitor in case of any side effects. He will then need to take medication 4 times a day until hopefully around age 11 when he will have a defibrillator put in. He could have that put in now, but they like to wait until closer to puberty age when the muscles are stronger; however, if he was to collapse/have an episode before that age they would put it in immediately.
Needless to say, this is all going to be very costly. I (and my sister) would be SO appreciative of any amount you could donate to these medical costs. If everyone reading this could donate even $5 or $10 that would be amazing! Please please please keep Jonah and Deborah in your prayers - please pray for Jonah's health and for Deborah to have strength. She's having a very hard time with this news and she needs to stay strong and healthy for Jonah. He is her world. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this❤️
