Jail Guitar Doors USA is raising funds to officially open The C.A.P.O. Café, a youth-focused employment social enterprise where our youth will earn income, gain practical hands-on job training, and build sustainable futures for their families.

If you’ve been following us for a while, you know we’ve tried to open this café several times; however, city permitting and building restrictions made it challenging—the space we had was never designed to operate as a café.

Right next door to the center, a former wine bar has become available, and we want to take over the lease. This space is permitted and ready, providing us with the opportunity to offer youth meaningful work, hands-on job training, and a welcoming community space.

The café is the next chapter in a journey we’ve been building for years. Since 2009, we’ve sent guitars into prisons as a form of rehabilitation. In 2021, we opened The C.A.P.O. Center to provide music and arts education, paid apprenticeships, reentry housing, and wraparound services to justice-impacted youth.

With your support, we can open the doors and create a space where youth can grow, learn, and contribute to their community. Every donation brings us closer to making this dream a reality—and we can’t wait to welcome you in for a cup of coffee once the café opens.
