Tyson’s journey started in July of last year when he found a lump on his back. He had it removed & it was confirmed to be cancer (Sarcoma). He began 25 rounds of radiation in September to kill remaining cancer cells. He missed some work in November because he became very sick from a lowered immune system. In December he had another surgery to gain positive margins & also had a skin graft. He was hospitalized for 2 weeks during this time. After the first of the year, Tyson’s doctor informed him he had several nodules on his lungs. He started 8 rounds of chemotherapy in February. One round consisted of a week in the hospital & 2 weeks at home recuperating. During these cycles he was hospitalized for several side effects, blood transfusions, & intestinal problems. A blood clot was found in June & he started taking a oral blood thinner. Since he met his lifetime max for chemo he started taking Votrient, an oral ‘targeted therapy’ in September. This past weekend he was admitted to the hospital for severe pain & coughing up blood. A tumor in his left lung has encased a blood vessel. He has started radiation to shrink the tumor. If he would stop radiation, he will bleed internally. The plan is for 15-20 (Monday-Friday) radiation treatments. After radiation he will start a clinical trial either in Huntersville, NC, Atlanta GA, or Jacksonville, FL.

Today Tyson starts a clinical trial, Keytruda & Poly-ICIC. He will be the first human to receive Poly-ICIC, it's suppose to suprecharge his immune system.
